From Legacy to Leadership
Braathens has been part of aviation history since 1946, when it launched as Braathens S.A.F.E. with a focus on international routes. Over time, we became a key player in Scandinavian air travel, growing through strategic acquisitions and organizational change. This journey led to the creation of Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) in 2016.
Under the BRA brand, we proudly operated domestic flights across Sweden until the end of 2024. Today, we continue our legacy in a new form—as a trusted ACMI and charter operator, delivering operational excellence for partners across Europe.

Innovation has always been in our DNA. In 2009, we became the world’s first commercial airline to earn ISO 14001 environmental certification. Since relaunching after the pandemic, we’ve doubled down on our commitment to drive sustainability in aviation, while maintaining the same dedication to safety, performance, and partnership that has defined us for decades.
